Year 33 Bucket List

    Make Year 33 Bucketlist.

I forgot how time-consuming it is to actually think about my goals for the year and just make the dang list. But I did it! Yay!

  • unchecked

    Format it, so it’s cute.

Arguably the best part of the process! ;)

  • unchecked

    Post it on social media.

Well, hello, friends. Please enjoy this. :)

    Finish reading Harry Potter #4.

Because I’ve been reading it for five million years. And it’s like a million pages long. 😜

  • unchecked

Curl my hair (test to see if it will hold a curl at all).

I do this like once a year, just to see if anything’s changed. My hair hasn’t been able to hold a curl since I was a kid. Sometimes wearing it in a braid or curlers overnight works, for like 10 minutes, even with a ton of hairspray. Still on the hunt for a good method for my stick straight hair!

    Do Project 333/find my style.

Because #minimalism!

Go to an LDS Temple I haven’t been to yet (Yes, Open Houses count!).

I live in Utah and haven’t been to all the temples yet, so of course I want to visit at least 1 more this year. 😄

  • unchecked

    Get a pedicure.

Because I’ve only gotten one once.

  • unchecked

    Read Saints #2.

Okay, I’m actually listening to the audiobook. At 2x speed. But that still counts. 🙂

  • unchecked

    Read Harry Potter #5.

I will finish re-reading the series this year.. Even if it drives me nuts. Spoiler: it does. Double spoiler: J.K. Rowling loves to use my least favorite word in her writing. Regularly. My disdain for the word does not outweigh my desire to re-read the series, however. Woe is me.

Re-pierce my ears(?) OR wear mascara (see if it still bugs me).

Been thinking about re-piercing my ears for a while now. I think I’m over my traumatic experience circa 2016 and why I let my holes close up.. But am I brave enough to get them re-pierced and also able to find earrings with a backing I prefer? TBD.

I did wear mascara last week. Yes, it still bugs me. Mainly because of how long my eyelashes are and the fact that I have to wear glasses (yes, it’s a non-negotiable; I can’t see well enough without them to ditch them). And even when I curl my lashes they still touch my glasses, and thus the potential of streakiness on my glasses (yes, even after the mascara is dry). So, is it worth it to wear mascara? Possibly. But definitely not every day!

    Read Harry Potter #6.

My favorite storyline of the series. I will happily re-read this one (hopefully faster than I’ve been reading number 4, because there’s only 4 months left in the year..)

  • unchecked

    Stargaze.

Because, duh.

  • unchecked

    Read Harry Potter #7.

Should I do the full Harry Potter movie marathon at the end of the year? I mean, I’m already watching every movie after I finish reading the book. But.. someone twist my arm, please. Just enough to convince me to do the movie marathon. Please and thank you!

    Fill up a journal.

Okay, so here’s the thing. January 1st, 2025, I started a new journal. I finished it at the end of July. Thus, August 1st, 2025, I started a new journal. And it’s just a thin journal, so my plan is to fill that sucker up and write my last entry in it on December 31, 2025, in the evening. Now, if by say the 2nd week of December I notice there’s still loads of blank pages in there (there shouldn’t be..), but if, by chance, there is then I’ll just have to start doodling in there. Might be fun! TBD.

    Slow dance.

With someone. A man. Preferably that I’m not related to, but am attracted to. Might need God’s help with that one. Pretty please. And thank you!

Watch Out Of My Mind (TV show).

This show came out how long ago and I was so excited about it because the title of it is the title of my first book?! I’ve watched the preview of it at least twice. But not recently. So, my thought process is, if it’s on the list I’ve gotta watch it, right?

I mean, if that thought process was fully fleshed out then I’d also put watch Harry Potter #5 as an item on this list (as well as #6, #7 part 1, and #7 part 2), but, surprisingly, I had enough items to fill the list. Okay, I stretched my imagination to get enough items to fill the list because I thought there was enough Harry Potter stuffs on here already. I mean, yeah, I love Harry Potter and the wizarding world, but not enough for it to overtake Year 33 (Sorry, Harry.). Anywho.. Let’s move on, shall we?

    Attend a wedding + festivities.

Because, duh, it’s fun to celebrate love!

  • unchecked

    Scan my books into Libib.

Home library, here I come! Although it’s dispersed amongst various bookshelves, boxes, and bins currently..

  • unchecked

    Visit my older sister!

She moved closer to me!!! Well, still at least a day’s drive away, but ya know, I haven’t seen her in a few years, so I guess I should go give her a hug, finally meet her dog (not the goldfish that we advised her and her husband to get, but a dog travels better than a goldfish, so that was a good choice on their part), and spend some time exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Go to a ballet or play.

Because I haven’t been to one since.. 2021? I think.

I’m rooting for the Mouse King. Err, I mean Clara and the Nutcracker.

  • unchecked

    Go on a date.

I also haven’t been to/on one of these since 2020.. Maybe 2019.

  • unchecked

Visit a library I’ve never been to before.

Because of course, that’s my happy place.

A museum would also be acceptable.

    Transcribe Grandma’s talks and lessons.

Recently I was entrusted with my Grandma’s written church talks and lesson plans. After ensuring they were in protective sleeves and compiled into a binder, I glimpsed through the pages. This’ll take me quite some time, but I’m excited to re-connect with my Grandma through this project! It might test my eyesight some (everything is written in cursive, which I love, but do not read on the daily), but I am up for the challenge. 🙂

  • unchecked

    Print my memoir.

Because it’s mostly typed, I just need to adjust a handful of things, and add in my handwritten notes, then it’ll be golden!

  • unchecked

    Ask for a referral. ;)

Um, ahem. Returned missionaries might know what I’m talking about here.. But I’m a little anxious about this and need to build up the nerve to execute this, so.. Sometime in the next 11 months I’ll share more, but for now, I’ll just leave it at that. 🤐

    Talk in church!

Because although I can be reserved, I actually do love speaking in church!

  • unchecked

    Read 20 novels.

Should be a piece of cake for me, right? I’m always reading, but lately I’ve focused on non-fiction (love that for me), but I want to dip back into fiction (that’s not Harry Potter OR fantasy (again, Sorry, Harry!)).

For perspective, since my birthday (a month ago today), I have read 0 novels. I have read 1 novella, 1 children’s chapter book, 2 nonfiction books, and the July and August LDS magazines. I am reading 1 young adult novel and Harry Potter #4. But I’ve been averaging 1 novel every 2 months. I’m gonna have to kick my butt into gear to reach this goal..

  • unchecked

Get through the family history bin.

Going along with transcribing Grandma’s talks and lesson plans, I’ve got a few binders and folders of family history information to sort through. I’ve categorized things and given myself deadlines for certain projects, but, again, it’ll take time. :)

  • unchecked

    Blog 4x.

I did 1x today, to share this list! Yay! I reckon I’ll do another post around Christmas/New Year’s, I’ll do a random post sometime in the Spring, and then another post on my birthday eve to share facts from Year 33, per tradition.

    Finish that dang novel.

Oi vei. The bane of my existence. But it’s collected dust long enough, time for this story to be fleshed out, printed, and put on a shelf.

  • unchecked

    Go to a concert.

Because music makes my soul happy! 🤗

  • unchecked

Say I love you more often.

Because yes, let’s help others feel loved. Plus endorphins and dopamine = happy sauce :)
