Hey, y'all! So, funny story. Yesterday I was working on my birthday eve post with 32 facts about me, per tradition. I reviewed previous birthday eve posts and compiled some fun facts into the Notes app on my iPad. I was quite pleased with the list and figured I was done (this was around 8:00 p.m.), but decided I'd leave the list and go read for a while.
ReplyDeleteAround 11:00 p.m. I opened the list for a final read through. It was perfect. Then I copied the list and was going to paste it into a Facebook post. Well, I managed to delete the list and paste a link I had just shared with someone. And the list was gone. I tried to undo the action, but Notes app was not having it. I tried a few things, but to no avail.
So, friends, this is your reminder to always edit and save documents somewhere (anywhere) other than the Notes app.
Thus, this is not the traditional birthday eve post.
It is still, however, a list of 32 facts about Denali:
1. Every year that I have done these lists (at least since 2017), I have mentioned my disdain for pickles.
2. I did indeed eat a pickle this year. However, this year I added an additional ingredient: peanut butter. It did not improve the experience; therefore, I still do NOT like pickles.
3. I made some new friends! (Yes, human friends. And also some animal friends, of course.)
4. I went to Colorado. Twice. The first trip was to Grand Junction for a wedding and I stayed for a few days.
5. The second time I went to Colorado was a day trip to the city of Craig.
6. I've gotten two sunburns this summer (2025).
7. I floated a lazy river whilst in Grand Junction.
8. One of my stories was published! In the local library's literary journal.
9. I started working on my novella again. Yes, the one that has been collecting dust since 2021.
10. I helped my dad's side of the family organize and host a family reunion.
11. I accompanied my mom to a dozen or so cemeteries in Utah, to see where our ancestors are buried and to see the towns where they lived.
12. I met many cousin's babies.
13. I attended 1 baby blessing.
14. I love koi ponds! I hope to have one outside of my future home.
15. I averaged 2 visits to the library per week.
16. I visited several museums.
17. My favorite movie I saw this year was Twisters.
18. My local library's summer reading program requires adults to read for 1800 minutes. I have completed that x2.
19. It has been over a year since my floofball (GiGi) passed away. A few weeks ago I upgraded her grave.
20. I did NOT propose to any singers via poster this year. Yes, it's happened in years past, but I did not have the opportunity to do so this year.
21. I am ambidextrous.
22. I donated my hair!
23. I can touch my nose with my tongue.
24. I can NOT touch my elbow with my tongue.
25. Today is also Selena Gomez's birthday! She is about 2 hours older.
26. I love word searches.
27. I blogged twice. I want to change that this year!
28. Over the past year I read most of Jane Austen's novels. Spoiler: I'll just watch the movies, thanks.
29. I still have NOT read Pride and Prejudice. (Eventually I will, but not yet.)
30. I am bringing back bucket lists for year 33! (I haven't done one for the past few years.) I'll share it later this week.
31. I would love input on this year's bucket list, though! What do you think I should add? I'm all about making this a group effort. :)
32. Y'all, it took me years but I finally have a favorite color. Well, it's a specific shade. I'd love to share it with you, but electronic devices impact the coloring and therefore I cannot show you the exact shade on here. Sad day.
