Asking a Guy Out vs. Waiting to Get Asked Out

Asking A Guy Out
~ Use the word ‘date’.
~ Be obvious! Don’t just mention that it’d be fun to do a certain activity together. Establish a
day & time :)
~ Establish the following:
Day
Time
Place
Activity
Who’s driving (if needed)
Who’s paying (if needed)

From my experience, one of the most important steps is to establish who’s paying. When I ask
a guy out and he says yes, I tell him right then that I’m a modern dater. Meaning, that since I
was the one to do the asking, I’m planning to pay for both of us.

I like to embrace this new society of feminism and independent women! It’s my jam. But I
know that not everyone feels that way. If paying for the date is not what you’re used to or
comfortable with talk with your date to establish who’s going to pay, go Dutch (splitting the
check), or focus on getting him to ask you out!
Don’t let this slide. Learn from my mistakes :)

Sometimes, music speaks to the soul... serenading is almost always a good idea. Or you
can rely on an oldie but goodie ;)

'I Want To Hold Your Hand' by The Beatles

Or some newer material ;)

'You Belong With Me' by Taylor Swift

'Wanted' by Hunter Hayes

'Call Me Maybe' by Carly Rae Jepsen

Waiting to Get Asked Out
~ Flirt. Be OBVIOUS.
~ Touch his arm.
~ Tease him.
~ Words of affirmation (compliment him)!
~ Have one of your gal pals be your wingwoman (preferably already has a boyfriend..)
~ Mention to his best friend that you’re interested.
~ Suggest an activity.
~ {This one is not a joke}: Hope and pray.

I don’t know how often I’ve brought up religion on the blog.. But I’m religious and I do believe that
God has a hand in our lives, especially our love lives. I ask for his help in this department a LOT!
Sometimes I ask for patience as I wait to find my future husband. Sometimes I ask for courage
when I’ve met someone that I really like and want to get to know better.

One thing to remember: there will never be the ‘opportune moment’ (Sorry, Captain Jack) to ask
him out! You just gotta go for it ;)

I hope that these tips are helpful. They're certainly not perfect, but through trial and error, I've seen them work for me!

  1. Yaaas I agree that you have to be blatantly obvious sometimes! Boys aren’t mind readers!
